Between Mar. 29 and Apr. 2, Peking University Party Secretary Qiu Shuiping led a delegation on a tour to Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hunan and Jiangxi, and visited some leading officials, aiming to advance the cooperation programs between the university and the region, and check on the construction of local research institutes.

On Mar. 29, PKU and the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone concluded a cooperation contract on the Peking University International Innovation Center, Lin-gang Special Area project.

After contract signing, the delegation led by Qiu Shuiping visited Shanghai Party Secretary Li Qiang. The university and Shanghai have a solid foundation to work together. At a new phase of development, the two parties will have closer exchange and communication and tap into the vast potential of cooperation. PKU will leverage the strengths of Shanghai, and play its role to accelerate the construction of the Peking University International Innovation Center, Lin-gang Special Area. Cooperation in the fields of fundamental studies, sci-tech innovation, industrial development, and humanities and social sciences will expand in breadth and depth. And the university will better fit into and partake in the development of Shanghai during the 14thFive-year Plan period and beyond. The two parties will work together to serve the country’s strategies and achieve greater development.
