On the morning of December 8th, Piao Shilong, Vice President of Peking University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the Peking University Shanghai Lin-gang International Science and Technology Innovation Center(PKU-IICSH, or "the center") during the 2023 Peking University Global Financial Forum, and inspected the construction progress of the center and engaged in discussions with the heads of each research and development center.
Afterwards, Piao toured the Biopharmaceutical Shared Experimental Platform (BSEP) under construction on the center's eighth floor. As a collaborative effort between World Laureates Association, ATLATL and the center, BSEP will cover an area of nearly 1600 square meters, and once completed will provide high-standard shared experimental instruments and equipment, as well as high-level incubation services for life sciences research team.
Piao toured the office area, shared meeting spaces, and exhibition hall on the second floor of the center, and received on-site presentations on the achievements of each resident project team. In the lobby of the Party Service Center, Piao was briefed by Yao Weihao, director of the the center on the background, operating model, project incubation, strategic cooperation ecosystem, cultural and brand empowerment, progress in fund formation, and upcoming work plans.
Piao commended the operational approach and model of the center, encouraging the operating team to strengthen collaboration with local governments and industrial parks, enhance team building, and improve service capabilities. He also expressed the hope that the center would further attract external high-quality resources such as alumni, promote the integration of science and technology with finance, create branded events for science and industry collaboration, comprehensively showcase the latest advancements in Peking University's technological innovation, and facilitate the efficient transformation of scientific achievements.
