On the afternoon of July 5, 2024, the New Structural Materials Technology R&D Center (hereafter "New Structural Materials Center") at Peking University Shanghai Lin-gang International Science and Technology Innovation Center (PKU-IICSH) held an "Industry Ecosystem" seminar at Hampton by Hilton Shanghai Hongqiao Necc, aiming to facilitate communication and cooperation among entrepreneurs, innovators, and investors. The seminar, which focused on "The Transformation and Commercialization of Sci-tech & Innovation Achievements", was co-chaired by Dr. Wang Wenzhong, Executive Director of New Structural Materials Technology R&D Center and consulting expert Wang Ji. Dr. Hong Han and Dr. Liang Jie from the New Structural Materials Center, as well as He Hao, Director of Public Affairs at PKU-IICSH, attended the meeting, along with representatives from enterprises in the new materials and new energy sectors.
During the seminar, He Hao introduced PKU-IICSH's orientation and plans to promote the application-oriented transformation of sci-tech achievements by leveraging Peking University's technical advantages and industrial resources, combined with the location and policy advantages of Lin-gang Special Area. PKU-IICSH's strength lies in its ability to organize relevant technical forces and interdisciplinary cooperation, demonstrating strong technological orientation and professionalism. Additionally, PKU-IICSH plays a pivotal role in bridging university-industry cooperation and can effectively conduce the development and application of university research achievements, contributing to China's new technology research and development and prompting industrial upgrading.
Cai Xin, General Manager of Jiangsu HuaDe Hydrogen Energy Technology Co., Ltd., introduced the company's core hydrogen energy technology and industry development prospects. He expressed hopes to explore potential cooperation opportunities with PKU-IICSH in material science and energy, thereby establishing a technological rampart to amplify the company's advantages and global competitiveness in the hydrogen energy sector. Huang Zhuochao, Director of the Foreign Cooperation Center at JND Packaging, shared the development history of the group's packaging industry, production base layout, and collaboration with global brands such as Abbott, Nestlé, and Starbucks. He expressed an intention for in-depth discussions and cooperation with experts from the New Structural Materials Center on subsequent technological breakthroughs.
Dr. Wang Wenzhong and other experts introduced the technological reserves and research directions of the New Structural Materials Center, addressing questions raised by attending entrepreneurs and encouraging them to establish a timely and effective communication channel with the center, which will allow companies to pool wisdom, strength, and resources to provide a solid sci-tech innovation support for the industry chain. He also stated that the PKU-IICSH New Structural Materials Center will hold more seminars on industry ecosystems in the future, listening closely to frontline demands from the industry and intensifying efforts to promote the transformation of sci-tech achievements that are conducive to industrial development.
