On October 30, 2024, Piao Shilong, Vice President of Peking University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, led a delegation to visit the Lin-gang Special Area Administration (LSAA) at China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone. Chen Jinshan, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shanghai Municipal Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Lin-gang Special Area, and Director of LSAA, received the delegation. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions on the ongoing collaboration between Peking University and Shanghai, focusing on developing Peking University Lin-gang International S&T Innovation Center (PKU-IICSH). Following a progress report on PKU-IICSH’s construction, both parties expressed confidence and anticipation for jointly building PKU-IICSH into a first-class sci-tech innovation platform that profoundly serves the industry in Lin-gang while embodying Peking University's characteristics and international vision.

Several comrades from LSAA participated in the discussion, including Wu Xiaohua, Deputy-secretary of the Party working committee of Lin-gang Special Area, Wang Jiongyan, Director of Executive Office, Yang Wu, Head of the Department of Party-People Affairs, Wu Haitao, Deputy Director of the Division of High-tech Industries and Science and Technology Innovation, and Li Yi, Deputy Director of Finance and Trade Division.
Before the meeting, Vice President Piao Shilong and his team conducted an on-site inspection of PKU-IICSH, listened to the updates on its latest construction progress and future work plans, and proposed new requirements for PKU-IICSH’s further high-quality development.
