On the morning of September 30, 2024, the Dishui Lake Science and Innovation Financial Center Inauguration Ceremony was held at Xinchen Lin-gang Center. As a key link in the construction of the equity investment hub in Lin-gang Special Area, the Dishui Lake Science and Innovation Financial Center aims to establish a financial service system supporting the entire lifecycle of technology-based enterprises and leverage capital to precisely target the eight cutting-edge industries of Lin-gang Special Area, and therefore fully exploit its function of serving the real economy via equity investment and promoting sci-tech innovation. Zhao Yihuai, Member of the Party working committee of Lin-gang Special Area and Deputy Director of Lin-gang Special Area Administration (LSAA), attended the inauguration ceremony and delivered an address. Entrusted by Yao Weihao, Head of Office of Science and Technology Development, Peking University and Director of Peking University Lin-gang International S&T Innovation Center (PKU-IICSH), Wang Yu, Executive Director of PKU-IICSH and Zhang Weiwei, Deputy Director of PKU-IICSH participated in the launch ceremony.
At the ceremony, Lin-gang Special Area Equity Investment Comprehensive Services Platform was officially unveiled and became operative. The platform will provide integrated services allowing investment and financing services, registration, policy consultation, and training workshops both online and offline, aiming to create a "new hub" for gathering equity investment management institutions and talents and foster a "new model" that integrates sci-tech and financial innovation.
The Peking University Lingang Yanyuan Venture Capital Workstation was unveiled and started business. Wang Yu, the Executive Director of PKU-IICSH, gave a speech as a representative of the equity investment institutions. The workstation will establish an efficient and close link that promotes deep cooperation and resource sharing between Peking University and various institutions and enterprises in Lin-gang Special Area. It will lay a solid foundation for the rapid settlement, incubation, and growth of high-quality early-stage projects supported by sci-tech finance.
Moving forward, PKU-IICSH will continue supporting the Dishui Lake Science and Innovation Financial Center in leveraging the advantages of openness and institutional innovation Lin-gang Special Are. By uniting resources from equity funds, universities, sci-tech platforms, and financial institutions, PKU-IICSH will strive to build Lin-gang Special Area into an innovation hub that enjoys high-quality innovation capital and elements.
The Dishui Lake Science and Innovation Financial Center will keep regarding the Lin-gang Special Area Sci-Tech Innovation Fund as its core engine, further expanding the entire lifecycle industry fund matrix. By relying on the high-quality sci-tech enterprise resources of Lin-gang as well as the demonstration effect of the institutions that are newly stationed here, the Dishui Lake Science and Innovation Financial Center will achieve the "four gatherings" of innovative mechanisms, specialized services, professional talent, and premium institutions. This will provide more diverse product options, more convenient financing channels, and more excellent financial services for sci-tech enterprises, contributing financial strength to constructing the special economic functional zone.
