On October 25, 2024, the “Deepening Industry-University-Research, Opening the Future of Semiconductors” forum for the Integrated Circuit Industry Cluster in Lin-gang was held at Minhang Development Zone Lingang Park. During the event, Peking University Lin-gang International S&T Innovation Center (PKU-IICSH) and Shanghai Real Estate Minhong (Group) Co., Ltd. (Minhong Group) signed a strategic cooperation agreement.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by several key leaders, including Zhu Xuming, Party Secretary of the Comprehensive Party Committee of Lin-gang Special Area and Level II Bureau Rank Official, Huang Yongzhong, Director of the Lin-gang Special Area Enterprise Service Center, Zhang Yajun, Deputy Party Secretary of Nicheng Town, Liu Bei, Party Secretary of the Integrated Circuit Industry Cluster of Lin-gang Special Area, Deputy General Manager of Minhong Group, and Chairman of Shanghai Minlian Lingang United Development Co., Ltd., and Zhang Weiwei, Deputy Director of PKU-IICSH. Shao Ji, General Manager of Shanghai Minlian Lingang United Development Co., Ltd., and He Hao, Director of Public Affairs at PKU-IICSH, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

At the event, Zhang Weiwei was invited to give a keynote speech, sharing the development journey of PKU-IICSH and how it supports Shanghai in building an international innovation center. He provided a detailed introduction of PKU-IICSH’s business model, which leverages Peking University’s sci-tech achievements transformation system, focusing on "Proof of Concept, Deep Incubation, and Precise Investment.” Zhang also invited participating integrated circuit companies to join in building a collaborative innovation ecosystem and work together to address critical challenges through the deep integration of industry, university, and research.

Liu Bei delivered a keynote speech titled “Party Building Leading Industry Ecosystem Development.” Several experts, scholars, and industry leaders gave their insightful presentations on various topics, including semiconductor equipment technological innovation and the development prospects of components, building smart factories, building green industrial chains, and the fusion development of the integrated circuit industry, sharing the latest research findings and practical experiences from their respective fields. During the roundtable discussion themed "Innovation and Development of Integrated Circuits: Starting from Lin-gang," entrepreneurs in the integrated circuit field discussed the current situation of the integrated circuit industry in Lin-gang Special Area, the critical role of technological innovation in industry development, and the deep integration of industry and education, fully exchanging ideas about future cooperation directions.

The strategic cooperation between PKU-IICSH and Minhong Group is a valuable practice for both parties to promote the integration of industry and education in Lin-gang Special Area as well as a joint effort to drive the high-quality development of regional economy. Moving forward, both parties will work together to leverage the sci-tech achievements transformation advantages of university innovation platforms, the industrial strengths of enterprises in the Industrial Park, and the professional operational experience of the Industrial Park platforms. They will explore tailored paths for industry-education integration based on their respective features, positioning, and advantages, empowering the development of the integrated circuit industry in Lin-gang Special Area.
