On the morning of August 4, 2024, the delegation from Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School (PKU Shenzhen) visited Peking University Lin-gang International S&T Innovation Center (PKU-IICSH) to exchange ideas and explore the developments in Lin-gang Special Area. The delegation consisted of Ren Ting, Party Secretary and Associate Dean of Peking University HSBC Business School; Zhang Shengdong, Professor at the School of Electronic and Computer Engineering (SECE), Peking University; Chen Jiaojiao, Member of the Party Committee, Assistant Dean, and Director of Dean’s Office; Huang Xiulan, Deputy Director of the Foundation Secretariat and Office of Alumni and Secretary-General of Peking University Alumni Association; Zhang Chenli, Assistant Dean of the School of Transnational Law, Peking University; and representatives of students. Zhang Weiwei, Deputy Director of PKU-IICSH, along with colleagues from the Department of Science and Technology Development, Public Relations Department, and Administration Department, warmly received the delegation.
Zhang Weiwei gave the visitors a detailed introduction to PKU-IICSH’s operations, future plans, and industrial layouts in frontier domains such as biomedicine, integrated circuits, artificial intelligence, new materials, and quantum technology. Ren Ting recognized PKU-IICSH’s enterprise cultivation model, which closely integrates research with industry through a professional service team, providing strong support for the commercialization of sci-tech achievements. Prof. Zhang Shengdong noted that PKU-IICSH’s focus on cutting-edge areas like artificial intelligence and the low-altitude economy aligns well with PKU Shenzhen’s "AI4S" concept, namely, AI for Science. Chen Jiaojiao commended PKU-IICSH for its dedicated support to nurturing enterprises, making PKU alumni feel at home in Lin-gang Special Area. Huang Xiulan expressed her anticipation for further collaboration between PKU-IICSH and alumni from PKU Shenzhen who are currently in Shanghai. After the meeting, Ren Ting presented a souvenir to PKU-IICSH on behalf of PKU Shenzhen.
During the visit, the delegation toured Dishui Cloud Hall to learn about the overall development of Lin-gang Special area. They also visited Duoyun Bookstore and the book corner at Peking University Dishui Lake Lecture Hall, experiencing the cultural atmosphere that Peking University brings to this booming industrial city.
This exchange not only deepened the bond between PKU Shenzhen and PKU-IICSH but also laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. PKU-IICSH will continue to uphold the principles of openness, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation, working hand in hand with PKU Shenzhen and other institutions to advance scientific and technological innovation.
